I tried to find a download of this driver on the canon support page and the web, without success. The Windows driver update does not find any working driver neither. The SD card reader won't work for me since I need the camera to be properly detected by the system to use it as a webcam.
Canon Digital Camera Usb Driver Windows 7

There is no driver because no driver is required. The screen you show is just a generic Windows screen. Windows 10 sees my very old 1D Mk IIn with no problem or driver needed. Just because a Win 7 saw the camera has nothing to do with your current issue. Something else is wrong. Bad port, bad cable, who knows but Win 10 is able to see it.

Attention 1: Set the camera's Auto power off function to [OFF] in advance.Attention 2: Check [Communication] in menu is set to [Normal].Attention 3: You must first log in as an Administrator before reinstalling the driver.
OK, second try: connect the camera via USB (luckily it has a standard micro USB socket). I still knew that the EOS 350D does not present its data via a simple Windows drive letter (that would probably be too easy). No, you have to install a driver from Canon . So I waited while Windows 7 contacted Windows Updated, only to report that no driver was available. Hmpf!
That's absolutely brilliant!Thank you so much, I've been trying to figure this out for some time now. Only thing that annoys me is that the canon Camera Window software still doesn't want to recognize my camera. I prefer to sort my pictures by date taken in the year\month\date folder format and it's a hassle to do manually. But maybe I can get adobe Bridge to do that now that I have access to the camera folders. Again, thanks!
not working for me. I tried switching to PTP mode, but I still get the "device driver software was not successfully installed" error message. camera does not show up in explorer. urrrrrrgh. Canon EOS Rebel XT DS126071.
Thank you, I am using Windows 7 64-bit and the driver came up as Canon Camera, when switching it to the Print/PPTP mode in the USB connection on the camera, it came up instantly. Saved me 30CHF on holiday here is Switzerland for a card reader. Thank you buddy, now just need and adapter for UK to Swiss type connection. hehe
For the owner of windows 7 32 bit you must install the driver for windows VISTA 32 bit. Then you can continue to use the normal PC USB connection instead of print/pnp and use the EOS UTILITY to download pictures from your 350D.
The built-in Microsoft Windows Update service may not update your drivers properly. Instead, use The Camera Driver Update Utility for Canon. It is intelligent software that automatically recognizes your computer's operating system and camera manufacturer and model to find the most up-to-date drivers for it. There is no risk of installing the wrong driver. The Camera Driver Update Utility downloads and installs your drivers quickly and easily.
To find the latest driver, including Windows 11 drivers, choose from our list of most popular Canon Camera downloads or search our driver archive for the driver that fits your specific Canon camera model and your PC's operating system.
The PIXMA iP2810 also offers Full HD Movie Print, a feature that can turn HD movie clips captured with your compatible Canon EOS Digital SLR cameras, Power Shot digital cameras and VIXIA digital camcorders into beautiful prints.
A Windows PC looks at a Canon camera as a USB device. To the computer it is the same as a keyboard, mouse, graphics tablet and smartphones. Generally USB works smoothly but only if Windows has the proper driver.
Note that all ports are not the same. Ports at the rear of a desktop are directly fused to the motherboard and better. Also if your canon camera supports USB 3.0, try and look for a blue USB 3.0 port. Though backward compatibility is taken for granted it might not always work perfectly.
