I have tried to use the service now for 2 weeks, each time it states details have not been recognised. My NI number has been checked against my wage slip, the driving licence number is correct, and the post code correct. I have called the 0300 083 0013 and they say that all is fine and can give me details on my licence, but that is no good if I need to hire a car and the online system doesn't work for me. There are LOTS of other people with the same problem, and the answer is always 'call 0300 083 0013' however, there seems to be a problem with some peoples details. Is it possible to work out what it is?
Hi Julie. Thanks for your comment. When viewing your driving licence online using this system you will be able to see all your personal details (address, date of birth etc) but also more details about what vehicles you can and cannot drive than appears on your photocard. You will also see detailed information about any outstanding penalty points including the date issued, where the penalty was issued and when it expires. Information about penalty points does no appear on your photocard driving licence.
Your driving licence issue number is next to your driving licence number and does not form part of the 16 characters, illustrated by point 5 in the previous image. For each driving licence you are issued this number will increase.
A letter of entitlement or driver statement is a copy of your driver record or history showing details of name, address, date of birth, driver number, date of expiry of licence and class of licence including details of what that class refers to. It is issued by the licensing authority in the country of origin. An original document is required with your application if your foreign licence is expired, lost, stolen or damaged. To obtain a driver statement (letter of entitlement) for a foreign licence you must contact the licensing authority which issued your foreign licence.
During the first two years of your driving licence, where the number of points equal or exceed 7 a disqualification will apply. After two years of holding that driving licence, the disqualification threshold is 12 or more penalty points.
A number of extensions have been applied to the expiry dates of both driving licences and learner permits since 01 March 2020. To check your licence / permit expiry date (not the penalty point expiry date) use our expiry date calculator

You or the registered keeper do not need to get a new Certificate of Entitlement every year but you will need to use the serial number that is shown on the original certificate. Keep this number in a safe place. You or the registered keeper will need to use the serial number each year to renew in the disabled class.
If you do not get the details mismatch error and are still having problems, please forward your 16 digit police reference number OR your driving licence number to [email protected] explaining you are having problems with your Driver Number and we will look in to this for you.
Yes you will still be able to do this by post: -address-v5cRemember the driving licence will need to be updated as well: -address-driving-licenceAnd vehicle tax Direct Debit if that is how you pay: -dvla-changed-address
Birth certificates issued by Worcestershire Registration Services are the 'full birth certificate'. This is the one that includes parents' details and is used to obtain passports, open bank accounts, for Job applications, Driving licences etc. We no longer issue short birth certificates.
If you do not renew your licence, you will not legally be allowed to drive after your 70th birthday. If you carry on driving, your driving licence and motor insurance would not be valid, and you would be committing a serious offence which carries stringent penalties, which could include a heavy fine and having your car seized by the police.
You can renew your driving licence online (not in Northern Ireland) for free if you're 70 years or over, or if your 70th birthday is within 90 days. You'll be given a user ID code and instructions on how to renew your licence.
The DVLA will send you a D46P application form 90 days before your 70th birthday, and then every three years afterwards. Complete the form and return it to the DVLA. If you haven't got the D46P form, you can use a 'D1 application for a driving licence form', which you can pick up from a Post Office.
In Northern Ireland, the DVA will send you a DL1R application for renewal of a driving licence form about two months before your 70th birthday (and every three years from then on). Complete the form and send it to Driver Licensing, County Hall, Castlerock Road, Coleraine, BT51 3TB with your photocard driving licence and the counterpart and a new passport type certified photograph.
If it has to be this way , a massive help would be not to have a case sensitive code as I find it so much easier to type in the full licence number, post code and national insurance number, than to count the last eight of the licence number then enter a code having to check its case, I often get it wrong up to 3 times using the code, but have never made an error when logging on as the driver, with their consent of course. Not a driving instructor, but using the service for van hire, often with up to 10 people waiting, so time is almost critical for some. We have purchased a PC just so that the customer can log into dvla in our presence to try to speed things up but I would need five pc's just on a Saturday morning. " very bad idea" they should find a way that some in a trusted business with a need to know can have easy access just by entering a licence number given to us by the customer a few days before needed. After all they will happily sell your information to anyone with a car parking business.
Your citizen service number (BSN) can usually be found on your Dutch passport, identity card or driving licence. You can also look it up online on MijnOverheid. Dutch payslips, annual salary statements, health insurance cards and health insurance policies have your BSN on them too. 2ff7e9595c
